The Collins Avenue begins on South Point Drive or "0" Street, to the 5th Street. Te span between the 6 blocks is identified as "South Point Collins Ave." From the 5th to the 17th Street it is called "Collins Ave. South Beach."
From the 17th to the 58th Street it is known as "Collins Ave. Miami Beach” and, from the 58th street to 192nd street as" Collins North Beach”, Miami FL; Collins Ave North Beach starts exactly where you can find “The Bath Club”; (58 St and Collins Avenue). From the 192nd Street on the name is changed to “Ocean Boulevard” ending at the 214th St, dividing the Counties Dade & Broward and from then on taking the name of S. Ocean Dr. and finally N. Ocean Dr.
We ascribe different names to the Collins Ave by our Touristic Supplements. From 0 to the 192nd Street it appears only in the official nomenclature as "Collins Avenue (A1A), although the names that we have added also identifies areas, or districts along Collins Ave. There are two districts known by the names of Bal Harbor (where Bal Harbor Shops, a modern shopping center of exclusive brands, are located) and Sunny Isles (fast food restaurants and haute cuisine, cafes, boutiques, brasseries, clubs etc) crossing Collins Ave.
The Collins Avenue all the way long, is the largest artery in Miami Beach, where the best Italian, French, Cubans, Dominicans, Colombians, Argentines, China, Uruguayan and Venezuelan restaurants can be found, as well as the most famous pizzerias and fast food, night clubs, designer clothes shops, supermarkets, travel agencies, 1 to 5 star Hotels.
It is one of the busiest arteries, just like Ocean Dr, Washington Ave & Lincoln Rd, but still finding exclusive residential areas. Those who travel to Miami and has not walk by Collins, Ocean Dr, Washington Ave and Lincoln Road, did not get to know Miami Beach nor these very important avenues and pedestrian streets, but passing the whole Collins Avenue a vehicle is suggested as only part of “South Beach” is recommendable to walk. Passing this important artery a bus “S” takes you to one of the most famous malls like Ventura Mall, starting from Downtown (subway station).

La Collins Avenue en todo su recorrido, es la arteria más larga de Miami Beach, y en la misma existen los mejores restaurantes italianos, franceses, cubanos, dominicanos, colombianos, argentinos, Chinos, uruguayos y venezolanos; asimismo las pizzerías más afamadas y de comida rápida; clubes nocturnos, tiendas de ropa de marca, supermercados, agencias de viajes, Hoteles 1 a 5 estrellas.
Es una arteria de las más bulliciosas, al igual que Ocean Drive, Washington Ave. y Lincoln Road, pero igual tiene áreas exclusivas y residenciales.
Quien viaja a Miami y no pasea a pie por la Collins, Ocean Drive, Washington Ave y Lincoln Road, no llega a conocer Miami Beach, como las luce estas super importantes avenidas y calles peatonales, aunque recorrer toda Collins Avenue precisa de vehículo, ya que a pie solo la parte de "South Beach" es recomendable caminar.
Esta Importante arteria, además, es por donde el autobus "S" lleva hasta uno de los malls más afamados, como lo es Ventura Mall, partiendo del Downtown (estación del Metro).
